About Lawhill
A private British engineering company designing, building and supporting complete paper handling systems for the world's security printers.
Who We Are
Lawhill Worldwide Limited is part of the Lawhill group of companies and is responsible for all paper handling and related products, manufactured at our headquarters in Surrey, UK, and by our partner Jordan Star in Amman, Jordan.
Manufacture, assembly, testing, installation and after-sales service are all fulfilled within the Lawhill group. Many of our systems for the security printing industry include the mechanical and electrical integration of third-party equipment to meet the exact demands of each project.
Our aim is always to provide a complete solution that exactly matches the customer's requirements, designing bespoke modules, interfaces and add-on devices where necessary, and modifying new or existing equipment to suit.
Every customer has a personal contact at Lawhill who knows their machines and can react quickly and effectively when it matters.

Our History
From a Surrey workshop to systems in production on five continents.
1979
Lawhill is established in Surrey, England, as a private British engineering company, designing and manufacturing machines for a variety of applications.
1983
A number of major security printing companies commission Lawhill to supply fourteen continuous finishing machines for the production of National Westminster Bank cheque and payment books. Paper handling quickly becomes the major part of the business.
Mid-1980s
As non-impact cut sheet printers replace continuous stationery, Lawhill develops finishing systems that turn folios printed three, four or five to view into individual booklets.
Early 1990s
The original Cheksafe folio finishing system is introduced. More than thirty years later, early machines are still in daily production.
Worldwide
Lawhill systems are installed for banks and security printers across Europe, the Americas, Africa, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
2018
Every new Lawhill system ships with a dedicated laptop and Ethernet-based control for remote diagnostics and HMI operation.
2020
A system built during lockdown is shipped to Ohio, USA, and installed and commissioned entirely via Zoom and TeamViewer.
Today
New specialised systems are in development for EDP and direct marketing, where integrity and security are paramount.
Bespoke Finishing
Alongside Cheksafe, Lawhill designs individual modules and complete lines for general finishing. Built-in modularity means our machines interface readily with other equipment, so integrity can be maintained from the first sheet to the final pack.
In insurance and security print, where 100% verification is the prime objective, we have developed integrity systems that check every document for correct stock, correct order and correct set.
